WINCLO AND CELETTE SA COLLABORATION TO DRIVE THE FUTURE OF COLLISION REPAIR

For over two decades, Winclo has built its reputation on more than quality repairs. As a family-run business with branches in Stanger and Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal, the company has remained committed to its core values, maintaining a personal touch while steadily growing its footprint and investing in the people who make that growth possible.

Today, with approximately 42 staff members across the business, Winclo is entering an exciting new chapter. Alongside its established assessment centre, the company has opened a dedicated training centre in Ballito CBD, reinforcing its long-term commitment to developing skilled artisans for the South African collision repair industry.

The new facility arrives at an important time. Winclo is currently awaiting QCTO approval under the country’s new apprenticeship system, positioning the business to play an even greater role in structured skills development in the years ahead.

A key milestone in this journey has been the continued partnership between Winclo and Celette South Africa. Having worked together since Winclo’s expansion in the late 1990s, the relationship has been built on trust, reliability and shared values. “Celette SA has always been an honourable company to work alongside with outstanding back-up service,” says the Winclo team. “Their machinery is dependable, and Ronnie has been exemplary in supporting our growth through equipment recommendations, technical assistance and ongoing service.”

The collaboration has recently been strengthened with Winclo upgrading to new single-phase GYS welders in their new training centre. The equipment represents far more than a technological upgrade—it is an investment in the future of artisan training.

The GYS single-phase welders are designed to be highly user-friendly, making them accessible to both experienced technicians and those developing new skills. Capable of both steel welding and brazing, the machines provide the versatility required in today’s modern repair environment while simplifying operation for trainees.

Complementing the new equipment has been the expertise of a competent trainer, whose practical instruction has ensured valuable knowledge transfer throughout the programme. The results have already been encouraging. Three one-week training sessions have been completed, with 30 artisans successfully passing the course. The inaugural programme welcomed technicians from all KwaZulu-Natal Ford-approved repairers, creating an excellent platform for raising repair standards across the province.

Training courses currently range from one to five days, providing flexibility to meet different technical requirements. Winclo also anticipates hosting additional OEM training programmes later this year, with plans to introduce short courses that will further broaden access to specialist skills.

For the business, the benefits of investing in continuous learning are clear. Well-trained artisans perform repairs more efficiently, maintain consistently high workmanship standards and develop a deeper understanding of the equipment they use every day. This translates into improved productivity, greater confidence on the workshop floor and better outcomes for customers.

From an employee perspective, the value is equally significant. Attending structured training equips technicians with practical knowledge they can immediately apply in the workplace, improving efficiency while reinforcing best practices and correct equipment usage. It is an investment that delivers lasting value for both the individual and the employer.

As the collision repair industry continues to evolve with advancing vehicle technology and changing repair methodologies, access to quality training has never been more important. Through its investment in modern facilities, trusted partnerships and artisan development, Winclo is helping ensure that KwaZulu-Natal’s repair industry is well equipped for the future.

Looking ahead, the company hopes to continue growing alongside Celette South Africa, expanding their shared commitment to skills development, technical excellence and industry advancement. It is a partnership founded not simply on equipment, but on a mutual belief that investing in people is the strongest foundation for long-term success.
