AWARD-WINNING FINISH SHOWCASES POWER OF PRECISION AND PARTNERSHIP
A shared passion for automotive customisation has propelled the Naidoo family from hobbyists to award-winning competitors on South Africa’s biggest custom car stage.
Their journey culminated in a standout victory at Camp Fest 2026, where their meticulously finished vehicle earned Best Paint on the Day, a testament to craftsmanship, collaboration, and premium refinish technology.
The family’s custom workshop, Pre-Paid Utilities World, was established to bring all aspects of vehicle builds in-house, ensuring complete control over quality and execution.
Central to this approach was the use of Glasurit 100 Line, BASF’s premium waterborne paint system, renowned for its colour accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional finish quality. The vehicle underwent a full transformation inside and out, including a complete colour change from blue, and was finished with PC30 clear coat for superior depth and durability.
The project was supported by BASF Coatings Services (Pty) Ltd, with technical guidance provided by the Durban team under the leadership of Regional Manager Sanjeev Kataroo.
Senior Technician John Peter “Pipes” Gilbert assisted with the paint application, ensuring precision, consistency, and an exceptional final finish throughout the build.
Reflecting on the achievement, Sanjeev commented: “We are passionate about the Glasurit brand in Durban, and it is incredibly rewarding to see our customers’ excitement when they achieve recognition at a prestigious car competition that takes place once a year in South Africa.”
