BALCO AUTO COATINGS NELSPRUIT ON THE MOVE

The Balco Company was established back in the 1920’s, with the previous owner of Balco Auto Coatings acquiring a controlling interest in part of the original business.  In the late 1990’s, their main refinish interests were based in Pretoria and Nelspruit. Due to on-going growth and a deeper market and customer focus, additional companies were registered, resulting in Balco Auto Coatings being the largest PPG distributor in SA. During 2019 PPG acquired the business interests of Balco Auto Coatings.

Balco Auto Coatings Nelspruit has in recent years outgrown their operating space and it was time to find them a new home.

Earlier this year, Balco celebrated their move and the new premises with an open day, inviting existing, new and prospect customers to view the new facilities and all the products and services offered to the market.  Balco’s big move and their amazing new look were celebrated by all with demonstrations on the MoonWalk® and PPG LINQ™ digital colour systems, product demo’s and new product introductions.

Promotions, lucky draws, give aways and of course a spit braai with the PPG and Balco staff were offered through-out the day.  The interest and well wishes from all attendees greatly contributed to the success of the open day.

The team at PPG would like to wish Balco Nelspruit great prosperity in their new home.

Classic COrner & REStoration

Classic cars are the next big investment. As such the sector of restoration is growing in the realms of collision repair and it’s definitely the “sexier” side of the business. There are many opportunities to create exotic special-builds as well as keep timeless beauties in mint condition.

DRIVEN

With three motoring-journalists on our staff, we are able to test drive and review some of the latest models available on our roads as well as attend the latest model launches.

TRAINING

Knowledge is power. Training is key to up-skilling repairers as models launch onto our local roads faster than we can count. We also need to grow new talent into the collision repair industry. Courses are available to help and organisations are in place to train – this information is in Industry Index.
