SAINT-GOBAIN HAS GOT YOUR WORKSPACE COVERED WITH a.b.e FLOOR COATINGS
When it comes to flooring, the range of products supplied by a.b.e. Construction Chemicals has virtually become household names. The company – part of Saint-Gobain Africa – has in its more than nine decades of operation formulated products that are trusted and applied by major flooring contractors and also by the home-owner/DIY enthusiast.
Among a.b.e.’s most respected floor coatings – with a track record of over 30 years – is abecote WD 337, a two part, water-dispersed tough epoxy paint that produces a durable floor coating with a smooth finish.
abecote 337 tough epoxy paint is robust enough to protect your floors for up to 20 years if proper house-keeping is maintained and they have clients whose floors are 20 years and older and still look fantastic.
abecote is both oil- and petrol-resistant and has strong impact-resistance as well, which is ideal for the automotive industry. It is also suitable for ramps as it can be mixed with fine aggregates to provide non-skid surfaces.
Hi Build 400 and abeflo are the more robust system in the range and would need to be applied by specialist approved flooring applicator as the system if more complicated.
Training is offered for the appplication of WD 337 and can be applied by an in-house maintenance team.
Peter Jones, a.b.e.’s National Sales Manager: Flooring, says: “This is an economical product that can be applied over damp surfaces, and can easily be overcoated at any time for maintenance. It is exceptionally popular and can be used for industrial and commercial applications.”
The product is available in six colours: ivory silk, lime stone, sea grey, soft grey, sahara beige and havanna beige. Demarkation colours are also available.

Classic COrner & REStoration
Classic cars are the next big investment. As such the sector of restoration is growing in the realms of collision repair and it’s definitely the “sexier” side of the business. There are many opportunities to create exotic special-builds as well as keep timeless beauties in mint condition.
DRIVEN
With three motoring-journalists on our staff, we are able to test drive and review some of the latest models available on our roads as well as attend the latest model launches.
TRAINING
Knowledge is power. Training is key to up-skilling repairers as models launch onto our local roads faster than we can count. We also need to grow new talent into the collision repair industry. Courses are available to help and organisations are in place to train - this information is in Industry Index.
