SAGOLA EXPAND DEALER BASE IN SOUTH AFRICA THROUGH SHERWIN-WILLIAMS DISTRIBUTION

In the latter part of 2023, Sagola announced new opportunities through a national distribution footprint supported by Sherwin-Williams appointed distributors and their multiple other partnerships in and around South Africa. They have experienced a marked increase with an expanded national footprint with the popular DeBeer and Octoral refinish systems, and now have decided to include the Sagola range into their customer offerings.

Neil Butterworth, Sagola area manager for South Africa, says that globally the company have rounded out a record year of sales acceptance in diverse markets like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile as well as the SA refinish market.

The special edition Sagola 3300 GTO Sherwin-Williams gun delivers high quality finishes for clearcoats and single stage products. It has a high atomization level with a soft flow valve and smooth trigger to save on paint. The body is made of high strength aluminium as are the regulators and aircaps. It delivers a large fan for high transfer. The gun has no sealing joints between components and comes in a stunning electric blue colour.

The redesigned complete range of equipment also features a great feel-in-the-hand to avoid operational fatigue with softer trigger pulls in their ergonomic designs.

Sagola’s top line spray gun, 4600 Xtreme, is designed with many state-of-the-art features like metal-to-metal technology at the gun-nozzle-needle area which is devoid of easy to lose gaskets and will work non-stop for a spray painter every day.

Neil Butterworth says that Sagola has worked very closely with the company in recent years to develop an amazing recommended application chart for their complete range of automotive and industrial coatings. No matter what technical application needs are required, a painter can simply go onto the Sagola website and pick-up the brand information that is needed to get a perfect atomization that recommends the right spray setting. This takes away all the hit and miss to get an optimal spraypainting result.

Butterworth said that Sagola have already completed technical training for company technicians locally, and also said that further training will take place early this year. This training will look to upgrade knowledge on the new temperature and humidity treatment tool for compressed air supply which is capable of delivering a perfect balance between all the various elements inside the spraying cycle inside any spraybooth in collision repair, amongst other information.

Sherwin-Williams Distribution Partners in SA are upbeat about this new Sagola distribution offer.

Classic COrner & REStoration

Classic cars are the next big investment. As such the sector of restoration is growing in the realms of collision repair and it’s definitely the “sexier” side of the business. There are many opportunities to create exotic special-builds as well as keep timeless beauties in mint condition.

DRIVEN

With three motoring-journalists on our staff, we are able to test drive and review some of the latest models available on our roads as well as attend the latest model launches.

TRAINING

Knowledge is power. Training is key to up-skilling repairers as models launch onto our local roads faster than we can count. We also need to grow new talent into the collision repair industry. Courses are available to help and organisations are in place to train – this information is in Industry Index.
